Penny Drop have announced a stacked local lineup to help kick off Melbourne’s new COVID-safe Malthouse Outdoor Stage this summer, with the likes of Kaiit, RVG, Gordon Koang, HTRK and more all set to perform.
The 10-day music series will kick off Thursday, 10th January and will also feature performances from beloved Melbourne acts Mildlife, Sweet Whirl, Sarah Mary Chadwick, Good Morning, Emma Donovan and Surprise Chef.
It’s all taking place in a purpose-built amphitheatre built in the Malthouse Theatre’s courtyard. The new outdoor stage will operate as a 300-seat cabaret style space, and will also host comedy and theatre performances in a COVID-safe format.
Funded by $1.95 million from the state government along with $300,000 from the Sidney Myer Fund, the new stage will be a permanent addition to the city’s cultural landscape, running for up to six months of the year.
