Sticky Fingers Banned From Venue Over “Disgusting” Behaviour

Sticky Fingers have been banned from the Union Club Hotel after a performance at the Wagga Wagga venue ended with the band’s eviction from the premises. Speaking to a local news outlet, the manager of the Union Club Hotel labelled the popular Sydney group’s behaviour “disgusting” and “childish”.

Manager Josh Bradley told The Daily Advertiser that in addition to arriving to the packed-out venue late, the band was allegedly abusive towards the venue’s security staff, trashed expensive sound equipment that did not belong to them, and that one of the band members urinated on the venue balcony.

“They thought they weren’t in the wrong and they could do what they wanted,” said Bradley. “It was plainly disgusting, childish and unprofessional.” The band, known for tracks like Australia Street and Liquorlip Loaded Gun, was expelled from the venue immediately after their performance concluded.

Mr Bradley said that the number of revellers attending the gig, which was organised using the social music app PopUpGigs, made it impractical to cancel the event. “They will definitely not get a gig back here again,” he added, expressing particular disappointment with their destruction of the sound gear.

A representative from PopUpGigs, which was designed with a view to bringing big name bands to the rural town in order to reinvigorate its live music scene, told the Advertiser, “The venue put a lot of faith in us. I feel awful about the stuff that happened because it should be about creating good live music.”

While neither the band nor their manager, Neal Hunt, have commented on the incident, the band made headlines last year after engaging in similarly disorderly behaviour during WA’s Rottofest. The band’s headlining performance ended in an altercation with security and subsequent arrest of singer Dylan Frost.
