Iowa outfit Stone Sour have revealed that a rising Australian band will be supporting them on the entirety of their upcoming Australian tour.
Corey Taylor’s hard rock crew will be joined by Sydney rockers Bare Bones at the shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane later this month, which means the tour just got even louder, somehow.
“It’s pretty surreal to be asked to play alongside a band like Stone Sour,” Bare Bones guitarist James Dean tells Music Feeds.
“When I was 14 they released their self-titled debut and I remember just pumping it, I thought ‘Get Inside’ was the heaviest track ever (laughs).
“It also goes without saying the influence a musician like Corey Taylor has had not just on the five of us, but the global heavy music community — so to be joining such an icon on the road is nuts.
“Putting aside our festival appearances, these will be the biggest shows of our career, so it’s a mix of excitement and pants shitting!”
Bare Bones released their debut album Bad Habits in May this year, and even took Music Feeds on a track-by-track through each song on the album.
Sydney-siders who are keen to see them in action before their big support slot can catch them playing live at monthly emo party AM//PM this Saturday night for the official Neck Deep album launch party.
Meanwhile, Stone Sour’s upcoming Aussie shows will be the band’s first local gigs since they were last here for Soundwave Festival (RIP) back in 2013.
The band will be touring in support of their latest album Hydrograd, and you can catch all the tour dates and ticket details, below.
