Stone Sour’s Corey Taylor To Release Mini Comic Book Series

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman, and would-be Bieber collaborator, Corey Taylor will release a comic book mini-series of four-issue by the name of House Of Gold & Bones, a title Stone Sour fans are already familiar with.

As reported by Blabbermouth reports, Taylor explained the comic books link into Stone Sours’ albums House Of Gold & Bones part 1 and 2 by way of sharing the same stories told in Taylor’s lyrics.

“I wanted the music on the albums to represent the inside, the story in the story, the internal dialogue of the characters in that particular moment. The songs run parallel to the story itself, but only move the story a little bit. The music is more about giving a little background on the thought process in certain scenes,” explained Taylor.

As noted by Banana 101.5, the comic sees the protagonist wake up in an unknown world. As the main character learns more about the mysterious location, he also learns about himself.

“The last 10 years of my life have been the most formative. I realized I was on the threshold of the rest of my life — I had an idea of who I wanted to be as a man and I realized who I was at the time didn’t exactly jibe with what that idea was. So I started the process of changing for the better,” Taylor told Comic Book Resources.

“‘House of Gold & Bones’ is loaded with that journey, but it also has a lot of pieces from my friends’ lives — some are a lot more ahead of the curve than others, but we all are trying to do the same thing: trying to figure it all out. That’s why I wanted to tell the story in the first place — to put it all in perspective and find my place in it all.”

The first issue of House Of Gold & Bones will be released in US stores on April 17. But if you’d rather not catch a flight to The States, you can order Taylor’s comic book mini-series direct from Dark Horse.

Stone Sour will soon be in Australia for Soundwave 2013.
