Stone Temple Pilots Have Officially Unveiled Their New Singer

After a long and rigorous search process, Stone Temple Pilots have finally unmasked their new singer.

Say G’Day to the dude who’ll be taking over the reigns from the band’s legendary departed former frontmen, Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington: one-time X-Factor contestant, Jeff Gutt.

Gutt — who chucked a Nollsie by coming second in season three of the US reality show — was announced as the band’s new frontman on SiriusXM radio today, ahead of making his live STP debut at Hollywood’s Troubadour at a special invite-only concert, set to go down in the next 24 hours (so stay tuned for footage of that to inevitably emerge).

It comes after OG band members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz recently announced that they’d started recording a brand new album with their mysterious new frontman.

ICYMI: STP had been down a vocalist since November 2015, when Chester Bennington (RIP) left to spend more time with his main band Linkin Park (OG Pilots frontman Scott Weiland had been MIA from the group at the time of his tragic death in 2015).

While we wait to hear what this new era of Stone Temple Pilots is going to sound like, fans in Sydney can catch a special free concert honouring Weiland’s work in both STP and Velvet Revolver — and commemorating the 25th anniversary of STP’s iconic debut album Core — going down at Frankies Pizza By The Slice on Thursday, 30th November.

Catch all the details here, and check out some more footage of STP’s new frontman singing his ~Gutts~ out on The X-Factor, below.

Hallelujah by Jeff Gutt
