There’s plenty of movement inside the Interpol camp, where the band are currently sharpening their touring axes, buffing their recording swords and priming for an all-out assault on our collective asses.
The US rockers have just announced some surprise news in the form of a brand new album, due out in 2018.
Not much is known about the band’s mysterious forthcoming sixth LP, which will form the follow-up to 2014’s El Pintor. However, according to an official press release, band members Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino are currently cooking up the new disc in their hometown of New York, and plan to serve it up red hot some time next year via Matador Records.
“We’re currently working on a new Interpol record which we look forward to sharing with you in 2018,” their official statement reads.
Meanwhile, the post-punk crew have also announced a swarm of UK and European tour dates to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album Turn On The Bright Lights.
Let’s hope they’ll be sharing the love Down Under before the year is out, too.
