Experimental New York outfit Swans have announced two headlining shows when they hit Australia in 2015 for MOFO Festival and Sugar Mountain Festival. Swans’ own gigs are set down for Tuesday, 20th January at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and Thursday, 22nd January 2015 at Sydney’s Manning Bar.
Swans is touring behind their 13th studio album To Be Kind, released earlier this year. Swans have also revealed, ahead of their tour, they will put out a new four-track EP Oxygen on Monday, 24th November. Oxygen is a cut from To Be Kind, and the EP features an edit of the track by producer Daniel Miller (below).
The band released their first LP in ’83 and continued with a steady stream of new material until ’96. Swans took a 13-year break until leader Michael Gira reformed the band and released album My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky in 2010. Since then the American no-wave act have released three albums.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale from Tue 18 Nov (12noon AEST) via Frontier Touring. General public on sale from 10am (local time) Friday, 21st November. Full tour details below.
