Swedish House Mafia are only a couple of days away from announcing “One Last Tour” after confirming earlier this year that they are splitting up.
The site onelasttour.com is up and is filled with writing in the band’s signature font. It contains a link to the video for their hit Don’t You Worry Child, which has footage from their last UK show at the Milton Keynes Bowl earlier this year.
A statement on the website reads: “Final tour dates coming soon, soundtrack announced September 17th.”
Fellow Music Feeds journalist Alex Langlands had some theories on the impending tour, which he detailed in a conversation with me today.
After spending time in the studio with them in 2010/2011, he’s predicting that the band might release their long-mooted One Night Stand album and base a tour on that concept. This could possibly mean one show only in several countries, or even continents – considering the outfit’s global reach.
And if that’s the case, then surely Australia will get one last dose of the band.
Here’s what Alex had to say:
“Alright, so basically I was lucky enough to be in the studio with them and Knife Party when they recorded Antidote in 2010/2011. I was speaking to one of them and they told me that they had an album coming out called One Night Stand; I think it’s on Wikipedia.”
“Basically, I reckon that this announcement on September 17th will accompany the tour that they will announce, maybe one date per continent or something…it’ll be the One Night Stand tour.
“… I have no clue as to how expansive the tour is, but my best guess would be performances in Europe, America, Australia and maybe Asia. But they are seriously limited: they won’t play UK, and they are also pushing the hash tag #onelasttour, so it makes sense that they tour.”
