Multiple people have been left injured following an ugly brawl which last night broke out in front of Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, following a sold-out show for US rappers YG and Ty Dolla $ign.
A police spokesperson has confirmed to Music Feeds that riot squad officers were called to the scene outside the venue to help disperse the crowd of around 2,500 fans. Multiple concertgoers were arrested and others hospitalised with minor injuries.
Early reports claimed a 24-year-old man was charged with indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl at the event, though it has since been revealed that the incident in question allegedly took place during the concert itself, and not outside when the skirmish erupted.
Police have since interviewed those who were injured during the brawl, but claim victims were unwilling to supply police with further details, which may have prevented more charges being laid.
Rapper YG, who is associated with Compton’s notorious Bloods street gang, is no stranger to violence. Production on his 2012 music video for I’m A Thug was shut down by police when shots were fired on set.
He collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign on the song Toot it and Boot It, and the Sydney show was the last stop on the pair’s maiden tour of Australia, which also took in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. No violence was reported at those shows.
