Sydney’s Goodgod Small Club Announces Last-Ever Parties & New Operators

Sydney’s beloved Goodgod Small Club has announced its eight final nights of parties and introduced its new operators, who will continue to run the space as a venue, under the new name Plan B Small Club.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the Goodgod crew say, “The time has come. Goodgod Small Club will be open for just two more weeks before we pack up shop to go walkabout. The great news is that we are handing over to a brand new crew who will continue to run the place as a venue.”

Goodgood’s final night under the Goodgod name will be on 12th December, with all gigs and parties which have been announced for after that date coming under control of the new owners, Esperance Hotel Group. Oh and the themed trivia nights and Sylvia Tran’s Belly Bao team aren’t going anywhere, luckily.

In a statement, Esperance Hotel Group says it wants “to build on the incredible community Goodgod has created, and are committed to bringing you one of the best club experiences around. We’ll continue working to present some of the most talented national and international acts at Plan B”.

Esperance Hotel Group say they “are so honoured to have this opportunity” and have thanked Goodgod owners Jimmy Sing and Hana Shimada for their work. “We wish them the best of luck and look forward to their next incarnations in the new year,” the group says.

The Goodgod crew have thanked their loyal patrons, saying, “Goodgod is nothing without all of you, so thank you for coming down night in, night out and making it such an inclusive and uplifting Small Club to both work and play in.

Goodgod Small Club went up for sale in September this year, when its owners announced they were moving on after five years at the venue.
