Sydney live music venue Oxford Art Factory has been in existence for 10 years now, and it’s celebrating the anniversary with a huge free show.
The venue will play host to some of this country’s finest local acts at its birthday party in October, with 11 bands scheduled to take to the stage throughout the night, plus DJs.
Tame Impala member and GUM mastermind Jay Watson will play, as will Sydney band Palms and alt-rockers Green Buzzard.
The venue will also continue its history of breaking new talent with buzz-worthy acts like Big White, Darts and Sunscreen all on the bill.
Mark Gerber, the founder of Oxford Art Factory, has seen some pretty incredible things over the past 10 years. Lady Gaga took to the stage there when she was still unknown, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard played an early gig there when they were still in their infancy, and just last month Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins played a $20 show as Chevy Metal.
