Sydney’s The Rocks Announces Free Australia Day 2016 Music Program

Sydney Harbour’s The Rocks precinct has unveiled which home-grown acts will be taking to the stage at next year’s free Australia Day celebrations, name-dropping the likes of Jinja Safari, Tuka, Little Birdy’s Katy Steele, folktronica songstress Gordi and Melbourne Ska Orchestra.

Other acts announced for The Rocks’ Australia Day music program include Indigenous Torres Strait Island rapper Mau Power, electronic duo Left. and Indigenous Brisbane singer-songwriter Robbie Miller. Catch the full lineup, below.

Australia Day 2015 saw The Rocks host acts like Dustin Tebbutt, Saskwatch, Thelma Plum, Little May and The Bombay Royale. In 2016, the precinct will host free music from 12:30pm until 6pm on Australia Day — Tuesday, 26th January.

The day’s musical vibes will be spread across two main stages: Warrane at First Fleet Park and Tallawoladah at Atherden Street, while Jaunt On George Street will feature a croquet green, a caravan playing triple j‘s Hottest 100 and a photo booth.
