It’s been less than a year since Melbourne alternative stalwarts Sydonia unleashed their sophomore album Reality Kicks, but they’ve already got their sights set on its follow-up. The four-piece have announced a Third Album Preview Tour which will see them – you guessed it – previewing songs from their forthcoming third album.
Sydonia are currently writing and working on pre-production for LP number three, a process which they promise is churning out music that is “harder, heavier and faster” than ever before. And they’ll be peddling the new material in its embryonic form up and down the East Coast this April and May.
“It looks like it’s going to be an epic ball of fun!” The band posted via Facebook. “Who wants in?”
The tour will kick off in the rockers’ hometown of Melbourne for a Destroy All Lines show at Next, followed by a spot on the bill of this year’s travelling two-city El Grande Festival in Gladstone and Brisbane (alongside such artists as 28 Days, DZ Deathrays and Dream on Dreamer) as well as Sydney and Canberra. The final Melbourne date will serve as a fundraising show for an overseas trip – which the band is expected to announce very soon.
Sydonia have pencilled in the rough release date of early 2016 for the new disc, with its debut single to drop later on this year.
