With a brand new album set for release in the coming months, Taking Back Sunday are getting in nice and early, locking in a 2017 Australian tour kicking off in March.
Last on Aussie shores in 2014, Taking Back Sunday have plotted shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, where they’ll undoubtedly show off material from their forthcoming seventh album, Tidal Wave.
Few bands can spin a yarn quiet like Taking Back Sunday, and by all accounts Tidal Wave (out Friday, 16th September) is testament to that. The album is being praised as their most diplomatic yet, with frontman Adam Lazzara detailing an all-inclusive writing and recording process, listening back to and vetting tracks straight after they jammed them, “Instead of feeling boxed in by what we did on demos.”
It’s never just another run-of-the-mill tour with TBS though, is it? It’s not, and this time around will be no different. Adding some solid ‘oomph’ factor to the tour is the inclusion of Emo forefathers Acceptance, whose legacy can be traced back to the glory days of 2000. The band is also gearing up to release music and this will be the first time ever that their Australian fans get to hear them live.
