Talking Heads’ David Byrne Announces 2018 Australian Tour

Musician, author and iconic Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has announced a 2018 Australian tour, off the back of his latest solo album American Utopia.

Byrne will bring his new album tour to Australia in November this year, for theatre shows in Sydney, the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Melbourne.

Backed by his 12-piece band, Byrne is expected to showcase songs from across his career (including his work with Talking Heads and St Vincent) during the choreographed shows, which he has previously called “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for [1984’s] Stop Making Sense“.

“I’ve made a record that just has my name on it but is also the result of the contributions of many other people,” Byrne says of American Utopia.

“I suspect that like me, it is asking what are we like, what do we want, and what are we looking for?”
