Turns Out Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker DOES Feature On Kanye West’s New Album

While it was initially unclear if Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker contributed to Kanye West‘s new album Ye, it has now been confirmed that Parker did indeed earn a writer’s credit on the song ‘Violent Crimes’.

Triple j initially reported that Parker’s songwriting skills appeared on the song ‘Ghost Town’, but Parker’s representatives later told the station that Parker might not actually have appeared on that track.

Now, as triple j points out, streaming platforms have updated the credits for Ye, and the credits for ‘Violent Crimes’ confirm that Parker was one of the writers on that song. Parker isn’t credited on ‘Ghost Town’, though.

Parker first thought his work may have appeared on Ye while listening to Kanye’s live-streamed album listening party in Wyoming, telling triple j that he had sent a beat to Kanye at his request.

It’s unclear exactly what Parker contributed to ‘Violent Crimes’, but it could well be the song’s plodding beats. Stream the song in full, below.
