Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker says he needed to Google himself after going on a bit of a bender at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival in June, revealing that he used the hashtag #KevinParker in order to try and piece together his time at the festival.
Speaking with Q Magazine (Via NME), Parker says there’s a 36-hour gap in his memory of this year’s Glastonbury weekend, which saw Tame Impala perform on the festival’s biggest stage just before headliner Adele.
“We got there on Friday afternoon and were there until Monday morning. I’m still paying the price,” Parker says.
“There’s a good 36 hours after we played that is unaccounted for… I suddenly came to and it was Monday morning. Mark Ronson is sending me photos of me at various times and I’m slowly piecing together where I was and what I was doing.
“Part of my method is searching ‘#KevinParker’ on the internet and finding all the fan photos of me just like [makes popping sound].
“Did I go and see Adele after us? We’re entering into hazy territory here… We got off the stage and there were five bottles of Moët waiting for us. Monday morning was not good.”
Tame Impala used their set at this year’s Glastonbury Festival to show off tunes from their latest album, Currents, as well as their juicy back-catalogue. Since the festival, the band have announced that there’s a deluxe edition of Currents on the way with bonus b-sides, but it’s unclear if the new edition will come with any limited edition photos of Parker Googling himself.
