Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker has lost what appears to be thousands of dollars’ worth of studio equipment and musical instruments after a Malibu home he had been recording in was damaged by a bush fire.
Taking to Instagram after escaping the California fire, Parker told fans he made it out with his laptop and Hofner guitar.
“RIP to all this gear (and someone’s beautiful house) in Malibu,” he said. “I made it out with my laptop and the Hofner. My heart breaks for the wildlife.”
Parker is expected to release a new Tame Impala album in 2019.
Parker’s friend and collaborator Lady Gaga was also forced to evacuate her California home. Taking to Twitter to update fans, the singer-songwriter said, “I am thinking so deeply for everyone who is suffering today from these abominable fires & grieving the loss of their homes or loved ones.
“I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames.”
I am thinking so deeply for everyone who is suffering today from these abominable fires & grieving the loss of their homes or loved ones. I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames. All we can do is pray together & for each other. God Bless You.
