Tame Impala To Make Their SNL Debut Later This Month

Get f*cking excited, because it looks like new music from homegrown heroes Tame Impala is coming very bloody soon thanks to the announcement that they will be Saturday Night Live’s musical guest later this month.

Yep, Kevin Parker and co. will be taking the hallowed stage at Studio 8H on Saturday, 30th March for the first time, playing two songs. It’s safe to say they wouldn’t be doing this unless they had new music to promote – so we can rest easy knowing that it is highly likely we’ll get new Tame tracks before then.

2019 is already shaping up to be massive for Tame Impala, as they’ve also snagged a headlining spot at Coachella later this year. In an interview with The Sunday Times earlier this year, Parker gave us an update on the highly-anticipated follow up to 2015’s Currents.

“I like to think that the album is its own thing,” he said.

“I wouldn’t want in 20 years to be listening to an album I made now and think that I finished it for any deadline or any particular reason. It was finished because it was finished.”
