Taylor Swift has become the victim of yet another tirade by the infamous Westboro Baptist Church. The group, who have waged wars against musicians from Slayer to Radiohead, recently put out a press release in which they call out the 23 year-old singer for being what they call the “whorish face of doomed America”.
In the press release, the Church accused Swift of “work[ing] her ‘girl next door’ country-singer shtick, while hopping from one young man to the next and strutting across the world stage like a proud whore”. The group then attacked Swift’s father, saying:
“He has no compunction about her immodest vulgar appearance or serial fornication. With a hating hypocrite for a dad – who will jealously guard her income, while not giving a thought for her never-dying soul – no wonder she grew up to be the poster child for the young whores of doomed-america.”
There has been no response as yet from Ms. Swift. Huffington Post reports that the Church plans to picket her concert at the Sprint Center in Kansas next month.
