Teenage Dads Announce Only Australian Tour For 2024

Teenage Dads have announced they will tour Australia through August and September of 2024, playing some of their biggest headlining shows to date. The tour is slated to be their only headlining run in their home country for the entire year, as the remainder of 2024 is set to be spent either touring overseas or putting the finishing touches on their as-yet-untitled second studio album.

Joining the band on all dates will be Adelaide indie-pop singer-songwriter Aleksiah, whilst main support for the majority of dates will come from former Snakadaktal frontwoman Phoebe Go. A full run of tour dates is available below. A pre-sale for the tour will commence from today (February 27) at midday local time, with a general sale following from 9am local time on Friday March 1st. Access to the presale and all ticketing information can be found below.

2023 saw the Melbourne indie-rock band release their fourth EP, Midnight Driving. The EP was flanked by the singles ‘Teddy’, ‘Hey Diego!’ and the title track. Later that year, the band released three new singles: ‘Speedracer’, ‘I Like It’ and ‘Tale of a Man’. They also picked up the ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, which has been renamed in honour of the late Michael Gudinski.

In January 2024, Teenage Dads scored three spots in the 2023 triple j Hottest 100. ‘Midnight Driving’ came in at number 88, their cover of the Buggles’ ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ (recorded for the station’s Like A Version segment) came in at number 79 and ‘Speedracer’ charted a matter of songs later at number 74. The band were one of seven acts to have three songs in the countdown overall.

The band are also fresh from an appearance on the main stage of Laneway Festival, where they appeared alongside Stormzy, Steve Lacy, Dominic Fike and Raye, as well as fellow Australian artists such as Confidence Man, Vacations and Miss Kaninna.

In March, Teenage Dads will head to North America for a mix of headlining shows and dates supporting The Brook & The Bluff. This will be followed by a tour of the UK and Europe in May and June, which will feature both festival dates and headlining performances, and a run of New Zealand shows in early September.
