Splendour 2016 favourites Tegan And Sara are currently orchestrating a music video monsoon, with plans to release a standalone clip for every song off their new album, Love You To Death.
But the sisters’ latest effort is arguably their most poignant and powerful yet.
Faint Of Heart recruits a cast of LGBTQ youth to portray a group of musical icons including Prince, David Bowie, Elvis, Madonna and Tegan and Sara themselves.
It reads as a statement about strength through music, and this message was made even more powerful by the fact that it was filmed the day after a gunman killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, enacting the worst mass shooting in US history.
“There was something very personal about this tragedy and that was undoubtably on our minds as we arrived on set,” Tegan Quin told Teen Vogue.
“I felt honoured to be included… which sounds silly since it was a music video for our band.”
It’s a beautifully shot clip for an upliftingly pop-tastic tune. Check it out below.
