After messing with everyone’s heads with a sneaky marketing move of having all their social media accounts disappear before returning with a new pink-hued approach, The 1975 are definitely still a band and have today announced a string of Australian shows set for next year.
The “new chapter” of the rock outfit has since been hinted as a big change for the band’s sound, with a new album set to drop sometime next year and a focus more on intimate shows for fans.
“The best way to start is the way we did before – in venues we have loved and in places that feel intimate enough to do a proper new show, with people who really want to be there or need to be there in some extreme cases,” frontman Matt Healey penned in an open letter to fans.
“Due to the size of the venues that we feel are appropriate for this particular tour and taking into consideration the humbling dedication that I have felt from a lot of our fans I predict that only the most dedicated will end up with tickets,”
