The Annandale Hotel Back Up And Running Tomorrow

It’s certainly been an eventful few days for the Rule brothers, but The Annandale Hotel has announced via the Facebook page today that the venue will be “back up and running from lunch time tomorrow”.

It was looking doubtful for the Dale after it was announced that they were facing financial ruin yet again. Owners invited a selection of close friends of the venue to break the news that doors would be closing. The entire city of Sydney was watching on as one of our most iconic music venues slipped between our fingers, but we can now breathe a sigh of relief, it’s all good.

Dan Rule spoke to TheMusic.com.au and backed up the good news, confirming that receivers Ferrier Hodgson (the same cats who recovered similar fumbles from Allans Billy Hyde and The Sando) “have come into the Annandale today and they want to keep live music at the hotel. We are working with them to ensure that live music does stay at this iconic Sydney venue. Existing staff and bookers are staying on at the hotel, while in stepping aside we wish the venue all the best for the future and urge Sydney music fans to continue to support live music.”

Despite taking a cheeky breather, things will be back in full swing in no time at all. All the events locked in for this weekend, and indeed all other events locked in, will still be going ahead, though I dare say with cautious optimism.
