Deathproof PR and Bombshellzine have announced that for the fourth year running, the Australian punk, rock, and hardcore communities will unite to raise funds for a cause, when The Australia Day Weekend Fundraiser 2014 returns with the likes of Luca Brasi, Damn Terran, Batpiss, and more.
Taking place at Melbourne’s Reverence Hotel and boasting one of the event’s more eclectic and carefully curated lineups yet, this two-day event, taking place from Saturday, 25th January to Sunday, 26th, will help raise vital funds for Oxfam and The Refugee Council of Australia.
Every band on the roster makes the trek on their own time and money, with the bill hosting some of the country’s most seasoned travellers and brightest rising stars, such as melodic punk rockers Luca Brasi, the ever dynamic Lincoln Le Fevre, garage heroes Batpiss, and many more.
According to the organisers, the driving force behind this special event is a philosophy of “confront[ing] and contrast[ing] the negative attitudes harboured by many Australians on this national holiday.” Previous years’ events have managed raise over $25,000 for these very important causes.
