American melodic death metal outfit and Soundwave alumni The Black Dahlia Murder are returning down under for a headline tour this June.
The Black Dahlia Murder have lined up a total of nine headline shows across Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney. Melbourne is getting a total of three shows from the group, the lucky buggers.
BDM have released five studio albums since forming in 2001. The group last toured for Soundwave 2014, and are returning to Australia to close off the touring cycle behind their latest album, 2013’s Everblack.
Vocalist Trevor Strnad explains that Everblack added something extra to the group’s genre-defining albums. “We’ve always tried to create something that’s rooted in classic death metal but at the same time offers something fresh and new, and Everblack is everything that we collectively love about the genre,” Strnad says.
