The Church to play ‘Psychedelic Symphony

In celebration of 30 years in the music industry, the church have just announced they will be playing the Sydney Opera House on April 10th 2011, along with accompaniment from the George Ellis Orchestra. The show which will see the iconic band revisiting the best work from their long career, hand picked by band members Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes, Tim Powles and Marty Willson-Piper for the special event, will be held in the concert hall, the band’s work added to by suitably grand orchestral arrangements.

The last few years have been very kind to the band, being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, as well as their latest album Untitled #23 being lauded by critics as the best of their career and EMI re-releasing their first four albums (with the next four soon to follow) in luxury packaging. A Psychedelic Symphony promises to be a fitting cherry atop this sundae of success as well as an unmissable event for fans of quality local music.

For a taste of what’s to come with this magnificent performance, please check out the church performing Under The Milky Way with George Ellis and his orchestra during their recent induction into the ARIA Hall Of Fame here.
