The Flaming Lips Get Their Giant Hands Back

If you were trying to help The Flaming Lips recover their giant hands – you may end your scavenger hunt now.

The hands – an integral part of the Lips’ live show – have been returned to the band after they suddenly went missing after their performance at the Southbound Festival in Bussleton, W.A. on Friday night.

The band posted a picture of two punters with one of the hands on their Twitter page earlier this morning, along with the caption “Found em!!!!!!!!!!!” Southbound Festival also shared the picture on their Facebook page, with the caption “Here they are!!! HUZZAHHHHH!!!!”

Following the hands’ disappearance yesterday, Southbound organisers offered a reward of 4 VIP tickets to Southbound 2014 to the person who returned the hands. How the hands disappeared in the first place remains a mystery.

It’s not clear whether the two guys pictured with the hands are the ones who returned them, nor are they the cheeky punters who escaped with them initially.

UPDATE – 8.00PM: Southbound have dropped us a line (check out their comment below) – and the guys pictured with the hands are the Festival’s Operations Manager and Operations Director. They’ll be offering a couple of VIP tickets to Southbound 2014 to “a few lovely punters who were very helpful in providing information to us.”

So there you have it – Wayne Coyne and co. have their hands back – and life in Lips’ land goes on joyfully.
