American folk-punk band The Front Bottoms have announced their first run of Australian dates in over seven years, returning down under for a series of headlining shows in April 2024. The New Jersey duo are touring in support of their eighth studio album You Are Who You Hang Out With, which was released in August of 2023.
The band shared the tour news on their social media this morning (January 16), with the accompanying succinct statement: “It’s been way too long.” Indeed, since The Front Bottoms were last in Australia – on the tail-end of their world tour in support of their 2015 album Back On Top – they have released a further three studio albums: 2017’s Going Grey, 2020’s In Sickness & In Flames and the aforementioned You Are Who You Hang Out With.
2023 also saw the band commemorate the 10-year anniversary of their breakthrough album Talon of the Hawk, which they did with a vinyl re-release and an accompanying North American tour where they played it in its entirety.
