Explosive Australian drum and guitar two piece, The Fumes have been circling the country since 2004, gathering a solid and loyal fan base. Avid road warriors, the boys have been spreading their brand of raw, gritty, power rock far and wide, blowing people’s mind with a velocity of sound that sits well outside the parameters of what is expected from two people.
In 2008 the band hit a high supporting Queens Of The Stone Age on their Australian tour and getting an invitation to join the line up for Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, where they have now built a concrete touring schedule and a fanatical fan base.
The Fumes recently stepped into Megaphon studios in Sydney with producer Jim Diamond (White Stripes, Electric Six) to record their second studio LP, Sundancer (in store May 8th 2009 through MGM Distribution). Mixed by Diamond in Detroit USA, and mastered by Don Bartley, Sundancer is the follow up LP to The Fumes debut ‘Guns Of Gold’ (July 06).
Python For A Pillow is the first single off Sundancer, a concise, beat driven track, featuring the swaggering vocals of front man and guitarist Stephen Merry. Inspired by a series of dreams his partner had of their little girl sleeping soundly on the belly of a grandiose python.
Python For A Pillow will be available as a digital download and a small run of 500 hard copy singles will be in store for avid fans to collect March 13th 2009.
