Chris Farren, charismatic frontman for Florida’s Fake Problems, has been announced as the support act for The Gaslight Anthem’s upcoming Australian tour.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be coming to Australia with my good friends The Gaslight Anthem,” said Farren. “I’ve played a lot of shows with them in the states, and to be taking the show to a country I’ve never been to before is crazy exciting.”
The Gaslight Anthem have previously toured with Farren, and covered his Songs For Teenagers on their B-Sides record, released early last year.
Farren’s steadily released solo work throughout 2014, ending the year with a Christmas album, Like A Gift From God Or Whatever. He’s also currently offering to write a personalised song for fans for a set price. For $200, he’ll write you an entire song or, if you’re short on cash, you can order a personalised spoken word clip for your outgoing voicemail for just $10.
The Gaslight Anthem are due to tour the country in January and February. The tour will kick-off at Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, 28th January. One show in each Sydney and Melbourne will be by-request, giving fans the chance to vote for their own setlist.
The band released their heavier fifth album, Get Hurt, back in August last year. It’s their first time touring Australia since then.
