The Ghost Inside Drummer Returns To Kit After Losing Leg In Fatal Bus Crash

The Ghost Inside drummer Andrew Tkaczyk has gone back to the drum kit for the first time after losing his leg in the band’s horrific bus crash in November. And by the looks of it, he’s gonna be A-OK.

This week Tkaczyk posted a video of himself playing drums with the caption, “Today was a huge baby step. I sat behind a drum kit for the first time since the accident, and it felt incredible.”

He thanked his fans for their support: “Every encouraging word and support from you all has gotten me to this point. I may not reply to every single person, but I’ve read every single message/comment etc. from every single one of you.”

To his bandmates and sponsors he said, “You’re fuel to my fire, now watch me burn.”

All five members of The Ghost Inside and their crew were injured in the tragic November bus crash, in which the drivers of both vehicles were killed.

Tkaczyk posted to Instagram after he awoke from a 10-day coma to an amputated leg, saying he “remained in positive and good spirits.”

“Not going to let it stop me,” he said. “I don’t care what anyone says. It’s a long road ahead, but I WILL play drums again. Can’t wait to get back on the kit.” And bless him, he was right.

The Ghost Inside were recently announced to be playing Vans Warped Tour 2017, their first show to be announced since the crash.
