Regional NSW festival The Gum Ball has shared its first line-up announcement for its 2024 iteration, set to take place in the Hunter Valley compound known as Dashville this coming April. Heading up the bill is Dan Sultan, fresh from a win at the 2023 ARIA Awards for Best Adult Contemporary Album, as well as Tropical Fuck Storm – who are returning to live performing in 2024 following bassist Fiona Kitschin’s shock cancer diagnosis last year.
In addition to playing with TFS, lead vocalist and guitarist Gareth Liddiard will also perform a solo set at the festival on its opening night – including songs by his previous band, The Drones, as well as cuts from his sole 2010 solo album Strange Tourist. Others joining the festival line-up are the Hard-Ons, with now-permanent frontman Tim Rogers at the helm, as well as RVG, Dallas Crane and Emily Wurramara. The full first announcement can be found below.

Returning for its 19th year, The Gum Ball is one of several festivals held throughout the year at the Dashville property. Others include the country festival Dashville Skyline and the heavy music festival Thrashville. Both are set to return in 2024, with Thrashville generally taking place in early September and Dashville Skyline taking place in early October.
Last year’s Gum Ball included acts such as Mudhoney, Party Dozen, The New Christs and Flowertruck, with artists like Paul Dempsey, Cable Ties and Ainslie Wills joining the festivities in the second line-up announcement.
