Sydney indie pop kings The Holidays are back, today announcing that their sophomore full-length studio album, Real Feel, will be released next month, and as if that ain’t enough good news for one day, they’ll also be hitting the road for a national tour.
The follow up to 2010’s Post Paradise will be let loose on Friday, 21st February, with first two singles Voices Drifting and All Time High already taking over the airwaves. Lead singer Simon Jones said Real Feel was a difficult album to make, with the outfit “always searching for a sound just beyond our grasp”:
“I had an idea for a sound that I couldn’t quite name or explain, a vague feeling, somewhere between love and loneliness, like a daydream where you can’t quite remember the content but the feelings you had remain. I guess that’s what this album is, trying to make real the intangible feelings of a few years of living.”
The Real Feel national tour will get going this March, with The Holidays kicking the proceedings off on the Gold Coast on March 6th, before travelling to a host of metro and regional stops around the country. Tickets are available through the band’s Facebook page.
