It appears rumours of The John Steel Singers return were accurate, with news today that the celebrated banana benders are back and in fighting form, as demonstrated in their brand-new track State Of Unrest. To drive the message home, the boys will be loading up the van and hitting the road for a run of shows including a stint at music industry hotspot BIGSOUND.
Fans of the band have had to rein in their love for the last little while, with nothing but 2010’s Tangalooma to mull over for the past 3 years. There’s a new album on the cards now though and, as a sign of good faith, State Of Unrest is the first ‘street track’ to be taken from the album, set to be usurped by the official lead single in the coming weeks.
Until then, we have the killer track, and appropriate visuals of d-wiss (Brisbane’s favourite underground music icon) doin’ a whole bunch of stuff, really.
Come late September the band will be taking the show on the road with a run of east coast dates to plug the new material as well. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, 22nd August.
