The Juan Maclean Announce Side Project, Peach Melba

The Juan Maclean‘s profile may have been a little dwarfed over the years by fellow DFA artists (and founders) LCD Soundsystem, but that hasn’t stopped John Maclean, whose project the band is, releasing a slew of impressive house album, remixes, EPs and singles over the years. Now, Maclean is embarking on what sounds like an interesting little side project.

The new band is called Peach Melba, which sees Maclean teaming up with singer Amy Douglas, the idea being, according to Pitchfork, to build classic house tunes from scratch. There is no better man to do that than Maclean.

The plan is release a series of 12″ singles, the first of which is out now and can be heard over at the DFA website.

And here’s a dose of one of the most memorable Juan Maclean singles, Happy House. This track that also ended up on the acclaimed 2009 album, The Future Will Come.
