The Kid LAROI Lands His First US Number One Album

The Kid LAROI has made it all the way to number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart with his debut mixtape, F*ck Love.

F*ck Love is the Sydney rapper and Kamilaroi artist’s first long-form release via the major label, Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment. The tape intially came out in July 2020, but has been reissued twice. The latest reissue, titled F*ck Love: Over You, is the one that’s found its way to number one in the USA.

The original release contained 15 tracks and debuted at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart. The single, ‘Go’, feat. Juice Wrld, also went ARIA Platinum. LAROI released the F*ck Love (Savage) deluxe edition in November 2020, adding seven new tracks including the single, ‘Without You’. A remix of ‘Without You’ featuring Miley Cyrus hit #8 in the US and topped the charts locally.

F*ck Love 3: Over You came out just a few weeks ago, on the one year anniversary of the mixtape’s release. The latest update includes guests spots from Polo G, G Herbo, Lil Durk and Justin Bieber. The Bieber-featuring single, ‘Stay’, continued LAROI’s postive chart run, making it to #1 in Australia and #3 in the US.

LAROI is just 17 years old, which makes him the youngest male solo artist to have a US #1 since a 16-year-old Shawn Mendes did so in 2015. The most recent Australian act to claim a US #1 was AC/DC, whose 2020 album Power Up topped the Billboard 200 in November 2020.
