Electronic producer Danny Harley, aka The Kite String Tangle, has shared the first taste of his upcoming EP Vessel, and announced an Australian tour for August and September.
Harley’s new track, Arcadia (below), sees him continuing to mark out his trademark sound as he muses over themes of love and loss. “Arcadia represents an unobtainable ideal that we all create in certain situations,” Harley says.
“In this case it focuses on a post-relationship situation where you want to go back to that comfortable space that the relationship represented, but things have changed and that place doesn’t exist anymore. It doesn’t stop us from striving for it even though it might be out of reach.”
Harley’s breakout single Given The Chance dropped in 2013, and has since amassed over a million plays on SoundCloud. The success took Harley to South By South West and Coachella in the US.
The Kite String Tangle’s forthcoming EP Vessel, which will feature both Arcadia and Given The Chance, will be released on Friday, 8th August. The EP will be available for pre-order through iTunes beginning Friday, 27th June, with all pre-orders coming with an instant download of Arcadia. Harley discussed the EP with Music Feeds earlier this year.
In celebration of Vessel‘s release, The Kite String Tangle will embark on an Australian tour later this year, beginning in Darwin on 20th August and wrapping up in Brisbane on 17th September. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, 27th June, with a member’s pre-sale for selected shows on Thursday 26th June. Full tour details below.
