In what is a great day for hedgehog news – you all saw this trailer, right? – The Libertines’ frontman Pete Doherty has been hospitalised after being stabbed by a hedgehog. Same.
According to Daily Star (via Pitchfork), Doherty was scheduled to come in to be a guest on Nihal Arthanayake’s BBC Radio 5 Live show, but a little prick got in his way.
“Pete Doherty is now in hospital having the infected hedgehog spine removed from his finger,” Arthanayake said.
“We wish Pete well because whatever has happened is serious enough that he has not been able to make it.”
Doherty took to social media to explain how on earth this happened, saying he was pricked by the hedgehog when he was walking his dogs.
The cut he got from the “wee bugger” later became infected, but the folks at England’s NHS and Manchester Royal Infirmary are tending to him.
Check out some pics and a full explainer of what happened below.
