It’s not even been two weeks since Sydney festival The Plot announced their jam-packed lineup but they’ve already bolstered it, adding triple j Unearthed winner Sampa The Great.
Sampa The Great is a Sydney-based MC who grew up in Botswana listening to 2Pac, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. She’s just released her debut mixtape The Great Mixtape which places her as a socially-aware, raw rapper, the likes of which Australia hasn’t seen.
She’ll be joining a huge bill that includes SAFIA, Art vs Science and E^ST as well as fellow MCs Tkay Maidza, L-Fresh The Lion and Tuka.
On top of The Plot, Sampa is also playing two dates in Melbourne and Sydney with an eight-piece band which is pretty phenomenal for an artist who is just starting out.
The Plot, put on by the organisers of Groovin The Moo, will take to its new home of Parramatta Park on Saturday, 5th December.
