The Rolling Stones are set to continue their 60th anniversary celebrations with the addition of a visual medium, announcing the release of the upcoming multi-part documentary series, My Life As A Rolling Stone.
Set to arrive on US network EPIX on 7th August, the four-part series uses each episode to focus in on one of the iconic band members, with episodes dedicated to vocalist Mick Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, and even late drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away last August.
The forthcoming documentary is set to include contributions from the likes of Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Slash, and Chrissie Hynde, while the series was co-directed by Oliver Murray and Clare Travenor, who have both worked on projects related to the band in the past.
“This distinctive documentary captures the raw and organic energy that defines The Rolling Stones, and tells the gripping, epic story of their journey,” explained EPIX president Michael Wright. “I am excited for viewers to experience this legendary band as few ever have before.”
The documentary also arrives ten years after Crossfire Hurricane, which was released alongside the group’s 50th anniversary celebrations and saw director Brett Morgen focusing on The Rolling Stones’ early years.
Recently, the band’s 60th anniversary tour celebrations were temporarily halted following Jagger being diagnosed with COVID. Following a brief intermission, the group returned to the stage in Italy overnight.
