In 2018, The Rubens spoke at the NSW Parliamentary Enquiry about the state of live music in NSW. From there, as a reactionary measure, the band wanted to put their money where their mouth is and help support the next generation of emerging artists. They’re now announcing the development of their new brand, Chucka Buckas.
Kicking off in November last year, The Rubens have been running monthly nights at Sydney’s Botany View Hotel. These nights aim to showcase new and emerging talent. They’ve today announced the inaugural Chucka Bucka’s Regional Tour.
This tour will see The Rubens hitting the road with a bunch of emerging artists in tow. This will allow them to take these artists to places they most probably will not have performed at before, raise their profiles and simultaneously boost touring circuits in regional hubs across the country.
The first Chucka Bucka’s Regional Tour will see The Rubens travelling NSW in July/August across nine dates. They’ll be joined by Sydney’s one-woman powerhouse Milan Ring and hazy-punk rockers Shady Nasty.
