Music-focused artist grant fund The Seed has gathered together an impressive lineup of some of Australia’s finest talent for its first fundraiser in October.
Missy Higgins, San Cisco, Emma Louise, Paul Kelly and John Butler will all play at the event which will be held at The Athenaeum Theatre and hosted by triple j’s Zan Rowe.
Started by John Butler and Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin), The Seed Fund offers financial and physical help to musicians to help them kickstart and develop their career. They offer grants, workshops, partnerships and initiatives.
“What started as a crazy idea to give money away to emerging Australian artists has literally turned into a self seeding movement and this gig in so many ways is the epitome of what the Seed is all about; the Australian music industry, supporting the future movers and shakers of Australian music culture,” said John Butler himself of The Seed.
As its a not-for-profit organisation, The Seed need a little bit of help with putting on the event and so they will be starting a Pozible campaign with some ridiculously great rewards for donating. A donation could get you “personal and live offerings” from Harry Angus of Cat Empire, Marlon Williams, Skipping Girl Vinegar, Mama Kin and Ruby Boots.
There are also VIP tickets to St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival on offer, the chance to have workshops with some of the industry’s finest and rare merch from Gotye, Temper Trap, Clare Bowditch and more.
The campaign kicks off on 1st September and the event will go ahead on Monday, 12th October. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
