More details have emerged about The Strokes‘ forthcoming fifth album, with hints that the band may experiment with a few different sounds on the record.
Seattle radio station The End 107.7 boasted that they had been sent a couple of tracks from the forthcoming album to check out, courtesy of the band’s label RCA.
One of the tracks was “a more synth driven track” – while the other was one with a more distinctive Strokes’ flavour. The latter track, titled All the Time, is also mooted to be the lead single from the record.

As a few of you may have caught wind of, late yesterday we spilled the beans that we’d had the chance to preview new music from The Strokes. While RCA is keeping most of the details of the forthcoming new full-length album (yes, you read that correctly) under wraps, we can tell you that of the two songs we heard, one was a more synth-driven track, with the other (the aforementioned, ‘All The Time’) packing a classic Strokes’ sound. No mention of a tour came up, but we can tell you, you’ll be hearing new music from the band sooner than later, with the new album to be released later this year.
The goss from The End 107.7 follows on from guitarist Albert Hammond Jr’s dad – Albert Hammond Sr – who told NME back in July that the band were in the studio and some of the stuff was sounding “incredible”.
