The Superjesus have given us a brand new single today, titled ‘The Impossible’. On top of that, they’ve given us a corresponding music video that is truly out of this world.
The song is one that’s going to send conspiracy theorists wild, as it centres around perhaps the most famous conspiracy theory of all time – that the moon landing never happened.
Frontwoman Sarah McLeod explained that Stanley Kubrick was also behind the inspiration for the song.
“I’m fascinated with moon landing conspiracies,” she said in a statement.
“When researching on the net one day I came across a Stanley Kubrick ‘confessional video’. No one knows if the footage is legit or not, but in it, he confesses to staging the moon landing on the set of 2001: A Space Odessey. He called the fiasco his ‘greatest masterpiece’. The confession video was designed to be kept under lock and key, only to be released after his death. Upon further research I found an article with the headline LANDING ON THE MOON IS SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE…and boom, out came the song!”
This new single and video comes on the heels of the legendary band’s announcement that they’ll be embarking on a massive tour to celebrate the release of their new double live album, Sumo 20 Live.
