In 2010 U2 guitarist The Edge slammed Aussie band The Temper Trap, saying that their Sweet Disposition track was very similar to the U2’s Where The Streets Have No Name. Now in an interview with Triple M, The Temper Trap’s Lorenzo Sillitto has hit out at U2 again, suggesting that there must have been a lot of infighting in the band at the time:
“He [The Edge] stole his sound from Joy Division… We thought there was some in-fighting going on because we heard The Edge had not that great a thing to say about us… There must have been some really weird in-fighting in their band. But it was really quite flattering.”
The full video interview will be published on Triple M shortly.
The Temper Trap are gearing up for a number of Australian shows in May, including performances as part of the Vivid Live 2012 Festival.
