It’s end-of-year list season, and triple j have now shared what their listeners believe to be the 10 best full-length releases of the year. So who tickled their collective fancy this time around?
2014 continues to be a huge year for Melbourne producer Nick Murphy, aka Chet Faker, with triple j listeners declaring his debut album, Built On Glass, the best full-length release from the last twelve months.
Released in April, Built On Glass won Best Independent Release at the 2014 ARIA Awards, which also saw Chet pick up Best Male Artist and Producer Of The Year. The album also won Australian Album of the Year at the 2014 J Awards.
Coming in second is Ball Park Music‘s Puddinghead, the Brisbane indie-rockers’ third full-length. Taking out third place is alt-J’s This Is All Yours, one of only two non-Australian acts to feature on the list. The other international is Royal Blood, their self-titled debut coming in at number 8.
