Universal Pictures has finally released the trailer for the highly anticipated Jimmy Barnes doco, titled Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy.
The documentary, inspired by Barnes’ 2016 memoir of the same name, is an honest look at the past on one of Australia’s most legendary and iconic artists. It’ll talk about his traumatic childhood, fuelled with domestic violence, poverty and alcoholism, and his evolution from James Dixon Swan to the Jimmy Barnes.
The film will also feature some killer musical performances, where Barnes will perform both his own songs and a few Cold Chisel numbers. Some performances will feature his children, Mahalia Barnes and David Campbell, as well as his brother-in-law, Diesel.
Barnes’ original memoir is one of the most successful biographies in Australia’s history. It spent 16 weeks at #1, and won the 2017 ABIA Award for ‘Biography of the Year’. Not to mention, it has sold over 250,000 copies.
Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy will be have a limited release in cinemas across the country, opening on Thursday, 23rd August. Watch the trailer below.
