The Treatment Will Not Be Playing Soundwave Adelaide

UK hard rockers The Treatment will miss the first leg of their Soundwave Festival tour in Adelaide tomorrow after missing a flight.

Festival promoter AJ Maddah broke the news over Twitter. “The Treatment have missed their connecting flight and will not be making the Adelaide show. They will join #SW15 from Melbourne onwards,” he said.

The band, who joined the festival as part of Soundwave‘s first lineup announcement in August last year, were scheduled to open Stage 5 at 12:20pm in Adelaide tomorrow, Saturday, 21st February. They are set to appear on the same stage at the same time in Melbourne on Sunday.

Yesterday morning (AEDT) The Treatment posted to their social media, “Australia, here we come!”, and recently released a new version of their song Cloud Across The Sun “in support of ‘Soundwave’ dates in Australia”.

The Treatment, based in Cambridge, describe themselves as “inspired by the great traditions of the hard rock genre, with a dash of punk spirit strategically safety-pinning worn leather seams”. This is the 5-piece’s first Australian tour. They are expected to play a Sidewave in Melbourne next week.

Earlier this month the festival confirmed two bands, Evergreen Terrace and Rival Sons, would no longer be appearing at any stage of the festival.

This is the first — and probably only — year Soundwave is a two-day event, and is also the first year the festival kicks off in Melbourne and Adelaide.
