UK indie rock faves The Vaccines have returned today with their first bit of music in over three years, new single ‘Headphones Baby’.
The song serves as the first taste of the band’s forthcoming fifth album – the details of which are yet to be revealed. We do know, though, that it will be out later this year.
In what couldn’t be a better time for a band with such a name to make their return, ‘Headphones Baby’ is the first song since their one-off single ‘All My Friends Are Falling In Love’ was released in 2018.
That same year saw the band release their fourth album Combat Sports.
“‘Headphones Baby’ is about creating an escape from that – plugging in to plug out and cocooning yourself from the reality of the outside world in the warm embrace of somebody else’s mind,” said the band’s lead singer Justin Hayward-Young of the new track.
“The song should sound like a fireworks display – a call to arms. And if you want life to feel like it’s permanently in technicolor then we might know where you can find it.”
Listen to ‘Headphones Baby’ below, find the video premiere, and stay tuned for more news of the band’s forthcoming album.
